If you are an Intermediate player, you may have played for several years in another program or in your school orchestra. For this level, I work with students to improve form and technique. We look at position and fluency of movement so that we can progress and start to work on pieces that have more skill technically and musically.
This is a great opportunity to improve as player. Students will find that they can move forward in their school orchestras, and be able to contribute more in leadership positions.
Repertoire for this level is typically:
Suzuki Books 3-6 and Barbara Barber Books 1 and 2
It is also a great time to check out and join some of the local programs for young musicians in Columbus such as:
- The Chamber Music Connection (All grades and levels)
- The Columbus Youth Orchestras (Grades 3- 12) Auditions in May
- YPCO Young Peoples Community Orchestra (Auditions in May)
